There are no upwards age limits on any examinations or presentation classes and a syllabus has been designed for both male and female candidates at all levels. The Royal Academy of Dance syllabus stresses the importance of every student having an achievable goal.
BTDA subjects (Modern, Tap, Lyrical and Musical Theatre combined classes)
Modern Jazz
This is the most popular subject mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials.Modern jazz is fun and energetic. Incorporating contemporary, commercial and broadway, depending on the age.
Tap
Tap dance really speaks for itself, focusing on rythm and co-ordination it is characterized by a tapping sound that is created from metal plates that are attached to both the ball and heel of the dancer's shoe. These metal plates, when tapped against a hard surface, create a percussive sound and as such tap dancers are considered to be musicians.
